Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist

Location: Cook, MN
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Positions Available: 1 Full Time

Scenic Rivers Health Services is currently seeking a full time Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Cook. This position will manage our accounts payable and payroll processes for all of the organization’s medical and dental sites. The Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist will act as the point person for submitting, coordinating and following up on automated payroll processing through our human resources information system.

Accounts Payable & Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process checks for all medical and dental sites
  • Verify approval on all invoices or check requests and code payments
  • Update and maintain various filing processes such as vendor database and accounts payable files
  • Reconcile vendor billing statements and general ledger accounts
  • Track various expenditures such as employee continuing education expenses and capital project costs
  • Audit and verify expense reports
  • Prepare 1099s and other tax forms
  • Update and maintain payroll related information within our HRIS such as but not limited to, tax withholding, pay rate changes, garnishments, and deductions
  • Perform payroll processing within HRIS
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee financial and personal information
  • Process Workman’s Compensation report for yearly state of Minnesota audit

Accounts Payable & Payroll Requirements:

  • 3 years of Accounts Payable and Payroll experience, 5 or more years preferred
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office & Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Experience in processing payroll through a human resources information system
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws
  • Ability to multitask
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • High school diploma required, 2-year Accounting degree preferred

  • Excellent Communication Skills
