Health Information Technology / Health Information Systems Manager

Location: Cook or Bigfork, MN
Positions Available: 1 Full time
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Scenic Rivers Health Services is currently seeking a full time Health Information Technology / Health Information Systems Manager at our Cook or Bigfork, MN clinics. This position will support the Technology and EMR needs of our 6 medical and 4 dental sites.

HIT / HIM  Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality IT and EMR technical support to employees
  • Effectively communicate EMR and IT changes and updates to appropriate staff
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve IT hardware and software malfunctions
  • Maintain inventory of computers, software, electrical equipment, printers and other IT hardware, restoring and destroying as needed
  • Serve as a primary support of software applications and EMR for all employees
  • Provide EMR training for new employees and current users
  • Analyze quality improvement (QI) data with HIM team, noting areas of improvement or needing improvement
  • Identify QI areas needing further training or education with providers/staff in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Maintain a working relationship with direct IT Service Provider to fulfill IT needs
  • Manage and configure the telephone systems while maintaining a working relationship with data communications providers
  • Coordinate the hardware, software and EMR needs for new and existing employees
  • Develop and manage updates to the EMR system in collaboration with other IT team members.
  • Document IT and EMR procedures and workflows
  • Manage processes regarding data privacy and HIPAA security
  • Perform oversight of building projects to ensure electrical systems and cabling address IT needs for the location

  • Associate Degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of working experience in the IT field, 5 or more years in Healthcare Information Technology role is preferred
  • Experience in the development of IT and HIT processes for electronic health records is preferred
  • Valid Driver’s license with the ability to travel to all 9 sites (no overnight stays)
