Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator

Positions Available: 1 part time (2-3 days/week)
Location: Bigfork, MN
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Our medical clinic in Bigfork, MN is currently seeking a part time Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator to support and assist the Medical Providers, working together to provide quality and efficient patient care. This position will manage the medical records and patient referral processes for the Bigfork and Big Falls medical clinic patients. This position will work with medical providers to ensure information is complete and properly routed to patient charts in the Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) as well as processing patient referrals accurately. Transcription of medical provider dictation for the Bigfork, Big Falls, and Northome medical clinics is also an essential function. This position will provide back up support to medical reception.

Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Complete medical records duties for the Bigfork and Big Falls medical sites
  • Manage incoming mail and faxes for department
  • Complete requests for release of information
  • Scan paper records into EMR
  • Manage incoming provider orders, forms and miscellaneous outside requests needed by providers
  • Complete referral requests of medical providers
  • Communicate with outside medical facilities to index outside medical records into patient charts
  • Transcribe provider dictation, ensuring accuracy of provider’s notes
  • Create and send result letters patients
  • Edit medical documentation
  • Assist medical providers and staff with requests for associated records of patients
  • Assist as a backup to Medical Reception such as answering patient phone calls, conducting patient registration and scheduling appointments
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned

Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s degree preferred
