Medical Records Secretary & Referral Coordinator

Location: Tower, MN
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Our medical clinic in Tower, MN is currently seeking a Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator to support and assist the Medical Providers, working together to provide quality and efficient patient care. This position will manage the medical records and patient referral processes for the Tower medical clinic patients. The Medical Records Secretary & Patient Care Coordinator position will work with medical providers to ensure information is complete and properly routed to patient charts in the Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) as well as processing patient referrals accurately. This position will also provide back up support to medical/dental reception.

Medical Records / Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities:
•  Complete medical record duties for Tower medical site:
•  Manage incoming mail and faxes for department
•  Complete requests for release of information
•  Communicate with outside medical facilities to obtain patient records
•  Scan paper records into EMR
•  Manage incoming provider orders, forms and miscellaneous outside requests needed by providers
•  Complete referral requests of medical providers
•  Assist as a backup to Medical and Dental Reception such as answering patient phone calls, conducting patient registration and scheduling appointments
•  Update provider schedules when changes occur
•  Order office supplies
•  Data entry of Patient Satisfaction Survey results and distribution
•  Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned

 Medical Records / Patient Care Coordinator Requirements:

•  Basic knowledge of medical terminology
•  EMR or EHR experience preferred
•  High School Diploma, Associate’s degree preferred
